Piñatas + Polka Dots + Silly String might be my new favorite combination now.

After we went to the GRAMMY Museum, we took another Uber over to the Piñata District. In case you missed it in the title, the Piñata District is known for — what else? — piñatas! And actually any party supply you could probably want is included in their large piñata store. This district feels a little like an extension of Olvera Street with a mostly Hispanic community.

We came in the afternoon and it was pretty laid back and quiet. It didn't seem so much like a go-to tourist destination. But if you want a custom piñata — like your greatest fear made in paper and cardboard form so you could smash it and get all the candy out of it — you should definitely go here.

I didn't just come to browse though. I carefully selected a two small burro piñatas. The bright pink one for me.

From there, we estimated about a mile walk to our next destination: the polka dot wall. This StudioDIY website compiled a fantastic collection of where to find colorful walls in Los Angeles, including this one.

It was a little tricky to find at first. The walk actually included more cool wall arts and backgrounds but we were determined to find this place of polka dot happiness. And we nearly passed it!

It's behind a food/juice/wellness/yoga center called The Springs which actually has inspiring style and cool furniture. And it probably has good food. We just awkwardly sat in one of their chairs because we didn't want to be those people — pretending like they are going into a store to buy something but really just want the wall in the back. But I guess we were. So after awhile, we owned it, and finally went to the back of the store and outside to behold: THE WALL OF POLKA DOTS.

Random city photoshoots can honestly be an experience in themselves. So having this polka dot wall, two mini piñatas and friends that liked to take photos as much as me was a blast.

Sidenote about the below picture: we attempted to throw the small piñata over my head multiple times. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the shot where it hit me in the face. #flyingpiñatafail

From there we walked to a nearby city bridge, played with silly string and the piñatas and then watched as the sun began to set over this beautiful skyline view of the city. It was just an Uber back to Chinatown before our final destination of the day/night.
