Privacy Policy

Updated: August 29, 2026

Introduction

Love, Maddily is my business, and this policy is written in my own voice — "I" means me, Maddie, because I am the only person who runs it. I care about your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit lovemaddily.com ("Website"), subscribe to the newsletter, listen to the Postcards for Posterity podcast, purchase a product, or work with me directly — and how that information is used, stored, and shared.

By using the Website, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

This policy applies to the Website and any products or services that link to it. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that don't link to this policy.

Information I Collect

Information you give me

  • Newsletter signup: your email address, and your first name if you provide it.

  • Contact or inquiry forms: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell me about your project or question.

  • Purchases: your name, email address, and billing information, collected and processed by my payment processor. I do not store your full payment card details.

  • Podcast guests: your name, contact information, and any biographical details you provide for episode notes.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, my hosting platform and analytics tools automatically collect standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent. Podcast hosting collects similar aggregate data about episode downloads — typically device type and general geographic region. I use this to understand what content is useful, not to identify individuals.

Cookies

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies for basic site function, analytics, and — if you arrive from Pinterest or another platform — to understand where visitors come from. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Your Family Photos and Materials

If you work with me on memory coaching, photo organization, or book design, you may share photographs, documents, videos, recordings, or physical materials. These are the most personal things I handle, and they are treated accordingly.

Ownership stays with you. Your photos and materials remain yours. I claim no ownership and no license to use them beyond the work you've hired me to do.

I don't use your materials publicly without written permission. No portfolio use, no social media, no blog posts, no podcast examples — not without your explicit, specific consent. Consent for one use is not consent for all uses, and you can withdraw it.

Digital files are stored in access-restricted cloud storage during a project, and returned to you when the work is complete.

After that, I generally keep my working copies for at least a year, and often much longer. Clients have come back years later after a hard drive failed or a phone was lost, and I would rather still have the files than not.

Please treat this as a courtesy rather than a service. It is not a backup, I don't guarantee any retention period, and you should always keep your own copy of everything. You can ask me to delete your files at any time, for any reason, and I will.

Physical materials — prints, albums, negatives, letters, memorabilia — are kept in a secure location while in my care, are never left unattended in a vehicle, and are returned by tracked and insured shipping or in person. Before physical originals travel, I scan them, so that a digital copy exists if something is lost.

AI tools are never applied to your materials without your permission. Full details are on my How I Use AI page.

I don't sell, rent, or share your materials with anyone, except a subcontractor or vendor directly necessary to complete the work you've hired me for — a printing service, for example — and only with your knowledge.

Photographs of Children

Family photographs usually contain children, and often children who aren't yours — cousins, classmates, friends at a birthday party. If you share materials with me, you confirm you have the right to do so.

I do not publish, post, or display identifiable photographs of children from client materials — not in a portfolio, not on the Website, not on Pinterest, not in the newsletter. If an image containing a child is shared publicly at all, their face is obscured before it goes anywhere.

This is a firm practice rather than a legal requirement, and it holds even with parental permission. It applies to my own family the same way.

Children Under 13

The Website is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided me information, contact me at hello@lovemaddily.com and I will delete it.

How I Use Your Information

  • To send the newsletter you subscribed to

  • To respond to your questions and inquiries

  • To deliver products you've purchased and provide support

  • To perform services you've hired me for

  • To understand which content is useful and improve the site and podcast

  • To comply with legal obligations

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it with advertising partners for targeted advertising.

Who I Share Information With

I use third-party service providers to run this business. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function:

  • Website hosting and analytics — Squarespace

  • Email newsletter — Flodesk

  • Podcast hosting and distribution — Podbean

  • Payment processing — my payment provider, for purchases

  • File storage — access-restricted cloud storage, for client project files

I may also disclose information to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request, or in the event of a business sale or transfer. Anything you post publicly — a blog comment, for example — is visible to others.

Affiliate Links

Some content includes affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission if you purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not determine what I recommend. I only link to products I've personally used and would recommend regardless. You're never obligated to use these links.

Your Rights

California residents. Under California law you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, to request correction of inaccurate information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (I do neither), to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

EU and UK residents. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

Everyone. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email, and you can ask me at any time what information I hold and request that I delete it.

To make a request, email hello@lovemaddily.com or write to 2110 Artesia Blvd. #582, Redondo Beach, CA 90278. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security

I use reasonable security measures to protect your information, including access-restricted storage for client files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

External Links

The Website links to third-party sites, including retailers, tools, and resources. I are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.

Updates to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised date. If a change materially affects how I handle your information, I'll tell subscribers by email.
