Los Angeles: Griffith Observatory during the day

Out of all the times I've visited the Griffith Observatory (and there's been plenty of times, like this one) and learned from all their exhibitions, and awed at the vast enormity of the universe displayed through their microscopes, and felt so small in their beautiful planetarium watching Centered in the Universe (my absolute favorite), I have never actually been to the observatory during the day. Let alone taking the trek up from the bottom. 

So I finally did it! TWICE in one month actually. And if I could do this at night — especially with parking being so crazy there these days — it would be my go-to choice.

On one visit I went with Matt. I was intent that while he was in Los Angeles we would go here and we would definitely see that Centered in the Universe video. Seeing the observatory during the day like that was a little weird. The vibe is just different than it is at night. It's almost more peaceful. And the view is just as incredible.

The second time I visited the observatory, my friend Michael and I started from the bottom #nowwehere and trekked to the top. It was a clear day so we could even see the Hollywood sign and there were some great look-out points. I guess I didn't realize that the main sight could be more than the observatory. The hike itself was a good enough reason to come.
