Utah: Bear Lake & Raspberry Shakes

I've heard Bear Lake described as the "Caribbean" of Utah. Exclusively because of how blue the water is. And it really is pretty. At least after the first 25 feet from shore where all the rocky sand has been kicked up. Like Payson Lakes, it's also really cold. But unlike Payson Lakes, we all submerged in the water! It took me a good 20 minutes or so — I had to wait for each part of my body to become numb before going in further. Matt and I also brought some intertubes we got from Target for $5 and just floated around in them. I like that this place has little waves too. There's also a rentals place you can get jetskis and other water toys from. The sad part when we got there was the big yellow bouncy things in the distance also had to be rented. And the rentals were prettttty expensive. We specifically went to Rendezvous Beach, and I definitely have plans to go camping and spend more time there next summer.

All of us beachin' it. Makenzye and Peter brought this handy umbrella!

As we headed into town for lunch and some of Bear Lake's famous Raspberry Shakes (this area is known for their raspberry business and even have a Raspberry Days festival usually the first weekend of August), there was also car show going on much to Matt's excitement.

And the raspberry shake is, in fact, a great shake. Worth trying.

I really loved being out here. It feels like the closest I've gotten to a beach in Utah and it's surrounded by such beautiful views and landscapes.
