Light the World: The 25 Days of Christmas

I'm going to take a break from reminiscing on my Los Angeles adventures to share with you the fact that it's DECEMBER 1ST!! Which also means we've got 25 days until Christmas! How is it already almost the end of 2016?!

I don't know about you, but I feel like 2016 was a rough one for the world. Personally I had downs, but also lots of ups. Such is life.

I recently was reading this talk on "The Divine Gift of Gratitude" by Thomas S. Monson president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and it seemed fitting to read it in the month of November, the month of giving. I love that within this talk on gratitude, he said this:

Sometimes, this seems like the worst time to be here with all the conflict and overall devastation that occurs.

However, when you think about the opportunity each of us has to make a positive difference, despite all the negative that we sometimes see on this Earth, that is what makes it so good to be here. To hopefully be a light for each other, to inspire each other, to lift each other.

Now going into this month of December, this month of giving, I invite you to participate in this 25 day "challenge" from mormon.org to do something each day that gives a little more light in the world.  Jesus Christ is definitely the exemplar of this, but we can all become a little more like Him by being good and loving toward others. Religious or not, I think that's something we can all agree that the world, and us in it, would really benefit from.

All seasons are great for that, but this season right now is especially needed.

And here's a little video with all the warm light you might want to get started:

My motivational words have been extended, you've (maybe) watched the video, I've given you the resources now go #lighttheworld.

I expect to see lots of world peace this month! ;)
