My two favorite museums in Idaho
I hope I’m not offending all other Idaho museums, but these two are my favorites: Idaho Potato Museum and The Museum of Clean. If you’re looking for random and educational, these are the ones to go to!
Idaho Potato Museum
I never would have thought I could learn so much about potatoes in one place. I was wrong. The Idaho Potato Museum does not disappoint, and they’re consistent with their theme. I was even able to order chocolate milk that contained potato in it (made it thicker) and the gift bags are potato bags. I also didn’t realize how much today was influenced by potatoes – like the guy that invented television was inspired by a potato field! Plus, you can take a photo in front of a giant potato. I love everything about this museum. You can see some photos and a small tour below.
Museum of clean
My brother-in-law recommended this museum and we finally got to go a couple weeks ago. Don’t be fooled by the photos – this museum is much more than vacuums (although I would say that’s one of it’s biggest collections). There’s a whole section for washer/dryers, toilets, brooms, and more. Basically anything you think of that has to do with cleaning, this museum has it. If you go, I highly advise you take the tour – that’s when you learn the best puns, because jokes about vacuum cleaners don’t have to suck ;) (I can’t take credit for that one – that was all Matt). You also get a photo opportunity with Don, the world’s largest janitor. Can you really miss that?
