Los Angeles: Bergamot Station

Having explored a lot of places in Santa Monica, I had only recently heard about Bergamot Station when I decided to check it out with Whit and Chris.

I didn't know exactly what to expect. For some reason I thought it was part of a train featuring an art gallery/store (probably because Wikipedia says the site was previously a train station from 1875 to 1953). But turns out it was way different than that.

It doesn't feel like the most welcoming from the outside. And we went early on a weekday so it wasn't super crowded, as in, we were some of the only people wandering around. It sort of made me wonder if we were in the right place. But as we entered into a paper store and poked around, I found some really great products and ended up buying some really nice stationary and pens.

The main reason people come here though is the art galleries. There's a numerous amount. We only went into a few — my favorite was the gallery with film that was developed and manipulated onto a large canvas.

There's also a cafe to check out which we happily sat down at and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Oh and a succulent wall. And a wall of bamboo. #instagramready
